About
Art is movement — it stirs us, moves us, and carries emotions that resonate across time. Through it, we are transported into flows of thought that mirror different societies, cultures, and eras. Each encounter offers a new perspective, reminding us that there is always more to learn and new voices to discover. Above all, art connects the dots — and, most importantly, it connects people.
Valérie Delfosse
Valérie Delfosse is a specialist in post-war and contemporary art whose career has been shaped by both expertise and an extensive network of artists, collectors, and insiders. Her eye for the field has been sharpened through years of valuations, curating exhibitions, and attending major international fairs and auctions, each experience enriching her understanding of the market and its dynamics.
Born into an entrepreneurial, art-loving family, her interest in art developed early on. She studied History of Art & Archaeology at Namur (FUNDP) and Leuven (KUL), complemented by a Contemporary Arts degree in London (SIA) and a Management master in Antwerp (UAMS).
Delfosse began her career at the Brussels contemporary art gallery Meessen, where she organised exhibitions and participated in international fairs such as Art Basel, Art Basel Miami Beach, FIAC, Frieze and Art Brussels. She also contributed to the Brussels collectors’ group SPARK as an organising member, strengthening her ties within the local art community.
Her nearly ten-year tenure as a contemporary specialist at Sotheby’s Brussels & Luxembourg refined not only her international network but also her profound expertise in post-war and contemporary art. During this period, she conducted numerous valuations, advised on collection management, and guided clients through both public and private sales. Her close involvement with exhibitions, fairs, and auctions allowed her to develop a comprehensive understanding of the market, leading to successful results across both single artworks and large-scale collections.
In 2023, this accumulated knowledge and experience naturally led to the founding of Valérie Delfosse Art Advisory, an independent practice that combines rigorous expertise with the agility and dynamism of entrepreneurship. In 2024, her authority in the field was further recognised when she joined the Royal Association of Art Experts and was appointed to the pool of art experts for the Flemish Government — distinctions that underscore her commitment to trust, excellence, and dialogue in the art world.
